Fitness Fashion Friday: pvBody

Attention CT residents! I have a giveaway going on at the Cait Plus Ate Facebook page for two tickets to next weekend’s performance of CONNetic Dance‘s Suite & Spicy Nutcracker at The Wadsworth. Enter before the giveaway ends on Monday night!

I’ve already brought up pvBody on the blog’s Facebook page and Twitter, and I definitely got a LOT of positive feedback…before I’d even shared my full review!

Julianne jumped on the deal…but more on that later.

Even the fitness-experts over at Well and Good NYC were intrigued!

You may have heard of Birchbox before, either on this blog or elsewhere (their star is definitely rising). pvBody works the same way. Step one – take a fun survey to determine your #fitgear “personality”. Step two – get a style profile. Edit as you wish. Step three – receive a different workout ensemble delivered (no shipping) to your doorstep each month, featuring pieces from premium brands (including Lululemon!) If you’re worried about what you order not fitting, pvBody has good news for you – returns are easy.

Okay, now the important part – price, which is $49.95/month. Consider this – if you divide the price by pieces of clothing, that’s roughly $25 per top and $25 per bottom. That seems right on par with some store prices to me, and actually a much lower than usual price for premium brands. I truly think that the added “surprise” factor of a fun pink shiny envelope (that’s right) arriving monthly and never knowing exactly what will be inside actually adds to the experience of the outfit. It’s more fun than going in a store and thumbing through the racks – and hey, I’m all about making less decisions.

The outfit I received was just what I asked for in my quiz/style profile – neutral bottom (to match more) and a bright top (because we all know I love colors). Let’s get the negative out of the way up front – the top was too small. To be fair, I fluctuate between a small and a medium for workout tops depending on the top’s design. I went with small on my profile but looking back, probably should have done medium to be safe. This particular top was form-fitting so a medium would have been a better choice. Good thing returns are so easy!

Top still looks good even if a bit tight!

However I love the fabric and the calming blue color. My favorite part of my outfit though was undoubtedly the wonderful gray leggings. I don’t now if I’ve ever put on a pair of athletic leggings that are so damn comfortable. Just really soft, not itchy at all, and they stay in place like whoa. They don’t ride too low, nor do they ride high and create a camel toe factor (TMI maybe but it’s an issue with tight workout capris/pants). They are in fact comfortable enough for me to just want to lounge around in them all day, making them the PERFECT workout bottom to wear on weekends when I hit the gym and go straight to Daybreak to study/blog.

Discount Link

Now here’s some exciting news – pvBody is offering Cait Plus Ate readers 20% off their first purchase! Anyone can use the link too, so pass it along to friends and family you run into who have no idea what to get the fit folks on their holiday shopping lists, or just those who you think would be interested in joining. There’s no commitment either – multiple months are of course available, but if you want to try out only one box first to see how your first experience goes, that’s no problem!

So remember that if you want to sign up for pvBody and make every day of the week a Fitness Fashion day (you can even pretend it’s Friday if that’ll put more pep in your Step-class), use this link so that you can take advantage of the discount. (And send me photos of your workout outfits if you sign up, because I’d love to do another Fitness Fashion Friday post down the line featuring various pvBody ensembles!)

pvBody provided me a free outfit to try for this review. This is not a compensated post. All opinions are my own and I’d be glad to honestly answer any more questions anyone has about pvBody!
