OK guys, I’ve been MIA. I know. But I have two MARVELOUS excuses. First: birthday (which was this past Friday 3/22). Second: vacation (which started on my birthday and shall extend until this coming Saturday). I went to North Carolina for a wedding and am now at our condo in Florida, typing this at lightening speed so I can get the heck outside and…do HW. Hey, at least I’ll be outside!

Thanks Katie for hosting this marvelous linkup each Monday!

My good friend Kat never ceases to hook me up with MARVELOUS opportunities, and she really outdid herself this time by putting Tom Zeleznock, CT.com Online Producer, in contact with me. He runs CT.com’s podcasts and wanted to do one with me! At first I felt a bit hesitant, but he assured me it’d essentially just be a conversation between the two of us that happened to be recorded. And he’s right – Tom was so easy to talk to and I felt really comfortable answering his questions and just joking around!

Loved the look of the mic!

Loved the look of the mic!

For some reason I did not feel hesitant to be honest and candid about my past and present history with disordered eating while doing the podcast, and I’m glad I didn’t, because that’s something Tom mentions in the intro that he appreciated about me. I feel like at this point I’ve written about it enough, so saying it out loud in a podcast wasn’t actually different…just a different medium.

In case you don’t have time to listen, here are some highlights:

  • Shoutouts to the namer of this blog, Rachel, and a couple restaurants like Barcelona Wine Bar and Carrabba’s (yes, it’s one of my fave chains!)
  • Discussion of gym selfies (ha), tasting events, and “Internet friends
  • Why I started the blog, whether or not it feels like work, and how I use social media as a blogger

Many thanks to Tom and to Kat for presenting me with the opportunity to record the podcast, and I hope if you guys have a chance you will give some/all of it a listen and let me know what you think! And with that, I’m off to do HW by the pool. If I’ve gotta do schoolwork there is no better place to be doing it!

Do you listen to podcasts? I loved MuggleCast in high school!

What’s marvelous about YOUR Monday?
