Where Have I Been?

Lately I have been hearing the same proclamation a seemingly endless amount of times: “You’ve been everywhere!” And I can’t say I’m surprised to hear that. Despite the fact that hearing this proclamation immediately triggers my brain to think, “You’ve been going out and drinking and eating too much and slacking on the gym!”, I’ve been practicing fighting that thought and feeling thankful for all I have been able to do so far this summer.

I’ve been to Knoxville, Tennessee to see my little sister graduate from college…

Diego's was a MUST for lunch!

Diego’s was a MUST for lunch! My cocktail choice was the Frisco – Old Overholt Rye, Benedictine, splash of Domaine de Canton, and fresh citrus. Only $8.50 too – this thing would’ve been a few dollars more in Boston!

Classic pose in front of the feet statue – too bad the foot is protruding from Nicki’s shoulder.

The wedding was perfect!

As was eating nachos in a cabana.

I was a featured photo on BostonHerald.com after the Ink Block Apartments launch party, and had a fabulous time at said party…

…and have attended two fantastic and fun events at Boston’s W Lounge. I mentioned the first, with Stoli Vodka and music by DJ BREK.

Workin’ it with Sylvia!

The second W Lounge event I attended, which I have not yet mentioned on this blog, was Turn It Up For Change. This took place last Wednesday and the timing was perfect since it was Pride Week! Hosted by Sean AKA @BostonMo, some proceeds from cocktail sales were donated to benefit the Human Rights Campaign’s marriage equality initiative. Tito’s Vodka provided a signature cocktail, DJ Liz Ladoux KILLED IT, and dueling drag performances made for a fabulously entertaining evening.

I have become a W’s truffle fries addict!

I attended the event with my friend Nicole! She loved the signature cocktail, but I enjoyed a classic Champagne Cocktail made with Tito's.

We followed up the event with some wine at Sonsie. Great event, Sean!

I also had a booze cruise and dance party double-header this past weekend. Saturday was the third annual 90+ Cellars Boston Rosé Cruise, and it was a roaring success with people declaring it the best year yet!

I had so much fun dancing and partying with my friends, coworkers, and a very special visitor – my mom!

I’ve come a long way since last year’s cruise. Despite the fact that I weigh more than I did a year ago, I also allowed myself to have more fun, and felt less guilt afterward. How could I not take advantage of such an incredible opportunity, and soak it all in!

My good friend Molly brought her whole family on the cruise. I had so much fun hanging out with them!

And then this past Sunday was my friend Matt‘s 30th birthday brunch cruise, hosted by Liberty Fleet! Which of course turned into an after-party followed by a quest for nachos followed by a Sunday night dance party.

Happy Birthday, Matt! Happy Photobomb, Ratty!

What a crew!

Trademark Tarts provided cruise-goers some SERIOUSLY addicting tarts. I'm amazed I stopped at three!

The nachos at Coogan's were worth the journey...of a few blocks.

We kept the dance party going, or should I say the dance party kept us going?

I am so, so lucky. I am grateful. This is cool shit. I am soaking up every bit of it.

But one place I have NOT consistently been is this blog. I’m very aware of it and it’s been bugging me, especially because lately I don’t know how to answer some questions I’ve been getting at these events or when I’m catching up with friends at weddings. Questions like, “What do you blog about lately?” or “Are you still updating your blog?” I don’t really like the term “lifestyle blog” but I guess nowadays, what I do blog about is my lifestyle. Which includes going out to eat or to events, cooking at home when I can, keeping up my fitness routine with a few new classes sprinkled in, and continuing to learn the whole self-love thing. It’s not a fashion blog, it’s not a healthy living blog, and it’s not exclusively a food/restaurant blog. So…meh. Lifestyle blog it is.

And updating this blog – eek. That’s been seriously inconsistent. But that also means I’m continuing to do more. Work is as busy as ever so my nights in and weekends are the times I have to blog. But during that time I continue to prioritize time with friends, my travels, and working out as consistently as I can. Blogging hasn’t come up in my mind lately when I find myself with free time. So I’m just going to keep answering the question of “Are you still updating?” with “when I have time”. I’ll be here when I can and try to catch you guys up with my life – or just write about whatever topic is weighing on my mind at the time. But the best way to know what’s going on with me is going to be my Instagram @CaitPlusAte.

Now I’m outta here because this is a night in and I’ve tried to cram as much as I can into it. It’s almost 10PM and my laundry is not yet done…I should get on that.

Have you been having a busy summer?

What’s the best way for people to know what’s going on with you – your blog? Twitter? Instagram?
