WIAW Goes Nuttz!

So about yesterday’s post…I did great with my goals! Then I forgot to drink my ACV this morning. Bah. BUT that doesn’t mean I won’t have it today. There’s always tonight, friends!

Fitfluential Ambassadors all over the blogosphere have been showing they’re nuttz for Nuttzo, and I don’t blame them. I’ve gotten in on a piece of the action myself – or shall I say a jar of it?

In today’s What I Ate Wednesday post (thanks for hosting Jenn!), I want to talk about a nut butter I’ve been eating on more days than just Wednesday. Ever since receiving this jar of heaven in the mail a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been using it in snacks – or as a snack – almost daily.

I adore nut butters, but peanut butter has always been my favorite…IF I’m being forced to choose. The best part of NuttZo for a foodie like me is not having to choose my nut butter’s base…because there are SEVEN nuts and seeds that make up this heart-healthy spread: peanuts, cashews, almonds, Brazilian nuts, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and hazelnuts!

The only other ingredient is sea salt, making NuttZo absent of the added sugars and oils found in other nut butters. Not that a little added sugar is awful – you’ve seen me use PB Crave – but I’m a savory girl through and through and I have been LOVING the hearty, satisfying addition the Seven Nut & Seed Butter makes to my fruity snacks. In fact, this jar has gained a permanent home in one of my cubicle’s desk drawer because it’s played a big role in fueling me through my recent post-work gym trips.

I think today’s pairing will be a banana. Already thinking about it…

I obviously cannot expect to keep such a treasure in my desk drawer at work and not share…my co-worker Walter sampled some on saltine crackers and it ignited a PB&J sandwich craving in him like you wouldn’t believe!

Of course now I’m dying to try the other two flavors out there, Chocolate and Multi-Nut (that one has pumpkin seeds and – super curious about how this affects its texture – chia seeds!). I don’t think it’ll take me too long to get through this jar, especially if I keep sharing the love and making others nuttz for this stuff!!!

Pairing NuttZo with fruit may not be the most creative way in the world to eat this nut butter, but sometimes simplicity is the best way to highlight the flavor, which really does stand on its own. That and the crunchy texture! And to think I shunned anything but smooth PB as a youngin’.
